(1)  a Joe Pickett thriller (just read the first few chapters.  Reminds me of  William Kent Krueger's Cork O'Connor books.)

(2) a thoughtful memoir by Frederick Buechner - one of my heroes

(3) these were almost back-to-back on the Free Table at The Peter White Public Library!
