Eternal God,
to whom every
creature
in heaven and on
earth,
under the earth
and in the sea sings
“blessing and
honor and glory and might”,
our night of
mourning and weeping drags on and on,
filled with
poverty and hunger,
violence and
cruelty and hate and war,
blindness and
sickness and sorrow.
We look for the
morning and all that comes with it -
healing and seeing
and comfort,
dancing and dining
and 153 fish(!),
confession,
forgiveness, and commission.
We extol you, O
Lord -
weeping has
lingered for the night,
but the morning
brings Joy.
With the elders we
fall down and worship;
and with the four living
creatures we say “Amen”.
Yes, let it be.
(And "may the force" be with us all!)
