Mourning dove nest on
fireplace vent. One lone egg -
but no mourning dove.
For a week now. Did something get it? Did it just give up on this "motherhood thing"? Get tired of fireplace fumes? (We haven't really used it that much.)
Sun climbs above trees, as moon sinks beneath roof-lines, in between - it's me! And a new day dawning.
